My picture looks like a star in the midst of a fluid enclosure of lines. The media I used was pencil. Most if my art was done with a HB pencil, and some was done with 2B. A new skill I learned for his assignment is how to use value to make lines appear closer or farther away. The composition of this piece is relatively symmetrical but off center, so as to let the viewers challgenge their expectations of a perfect dimensional drawing. I used various shapes and kinds of polygons, to give the piece diversity. This piece, although it has diversity, is unified at the center of focus, which is where the shapes come together to form a star. The feeling and mood of this piece is soft, with edges and a finish that doesn't leave the viewer uncomfortable. This piece shows that dimensions that are man made don't always have to be perfect, and that having different perspectives of life can lead to self-fulfillment.
